HCJB Global has approached UCB Pacific Partners to see if we can co-ordinate a medical relief team to the Solomon islands, from HCJB's hospital in Ecuador. This hospital (and team members) have experience in medical relief to remote disaster areas, including the big Asian tsunami of 2004.
After discussions with the Solomons Islands Ministry of Health, the six member team will be arriving in Honiara on Thursday April 12 where they will be hosted over night by Gud Nius Redio staff and listeners. After making their local preparations, Tina Lemazi, station manager of Gud Nius Redio will then escort the team of three doctors, one nurse, one children?s worker, and one logistics person on to Gizo, the main town (3000 people) of the Western Province (65,000 people) devastated by last week's earthquake and tsunami. Are you a medical professional? Would you like to help in the Solomon Islands? We would welcome your help in Gizo. Please me (Graham Carter) for more information. Please remember to pray for the people of the Western Province and for the HCJB Global medical team as they travel and minister to the people
