Steve's music video - a tribute to the people of Choisuel and Western Province is at the bottom of this page Tina and Charlie from Gud Nius Redio took two medical teams from HCJB in Ecuador into different parts of Choisuel and Western Province to minister to the tsunami/ earthquake victims. Afterwards Tina wrote, "The tour was done in outboard motored canoes. We spend the night at Mono Island which is the remotest of the islands in the Shortland group. Wednesday morning the doctors started work at the clinics seeing patients most of whom were still camping in the bushes. They came looking frightened because the doctors were white but the smile on their faces put all the patients at ease and after each one came out they all smiled and said they were the best doctors to have visited them. We left Mono at about 1pm and arrived at the next clinic which is Gaomae at about 3pm and work ended at about 6pm. We arrived at the next clinic at about 7.45pm so we spent the night there. This is where I was really touched and I thank God for them [the doctors]. This place was just an island and people use wells for their water and all their wells were spoilt by the waves that ran through their village. So we had nowhere to cook and to have a bath. I explained everything to them and looked at them waiting for their reactions and they just smiled at me and said don't worry we have our bush biscuits and mineral water and no complaints on not being able to have a shower. In the middle of the night I was reminded about how Paul traveled in those days and we were blessed to even have a roof over our heads. The next day which is Thursday we visited the last two clinics and headed back for Taro. This tour has taught me a lot and has drawn me closer to my God then ever before. We were told that the crossing from Taro to Shortlands was very rough and dangerous but on that day the sea was very fine. On the whole trip we had the finest of weather that the two others [non-believers] who had accompanied us admitted that God was with us and joined us in our daily devotions each morning without us asking them. That has shown me again that when we are rooted to God He draws people to you.
Steve Alufurai from Gud Nius Redio, Solomon Islands has produced a Music Video. He writes, "The song is called Lord Plis Sore lo me (Lord have mercy on me). It's a musical tribute by The Riti's to their people ofChoisuel and Western Province who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami. The Riti family live in the devastated area . . ." Even though it's not in English, the song is a very anointed And it demonstrates the amazing technical and musical abilities of the Solomon Island people. (Steve did the camera and post production work himself.)
The words of the chorus are: Hold my hand, Lord please hold my hand, have mercy on my Island |
